Warmth Within
42. Week of January 17
Winter’s grey and gloom
Surrounds the rosy bloom
Of my personal, shining power
Awaiting the senses flower
In the darkness sings a bell
Like a candle in a well.
Today I dropped my middle child off at school in Philadelphia and then I raced back to New England ahead of a snowstorm. Later this week it will be very cold. Winter has us in its icy grip.
But - do you feel it? Under the ice, shining? Sitting by the fire, looking out at the snow, shining?
Keep that little seed warm within. Enjoy these last weeks of darkness and rest and peace. We don’t need to rush ahead. The candle is there, shining.
